Make sure you have SmartScreen enabled. If you don't, Windows will block lots of potentially dangerous stuff, fifty-fifty if it isn't:
In Windows Security (click the shield icon in the notification area), select App and browser control > Reputation-based protection settings. Everything should be On or selected.
In Edge, click ⋯ ( Settings and more than ) > Settings > Privacy, search and services and scroll downwards to Security. Check that Microsoft Defender SmartScreen and Block potentially unwanted apps are both turned On.

Later trying to salve my router's ".CFG" file on my wife's computer and having the same bug as on my computer, I did some more playing around and finally figured out how to brand information technology work.
When you effort to save the ".CFG" file and the "may damage your computer" error message appears, if you lot click on the "Save As..." button like I had been doing, it does Non work. The file is saved merely as an incomplete download file with a ".CRDOWNLOAD" extension" which is no good.
What you take to practise to save the file correctly is this:
Instead of clicking on the "Save As..." push button, you must click on the "Downloads" text at the upper left corner of the popular-up window. Note that "Downloads" is non just text, it's really a button that opens the current Downloads page. When that opens, the file you're trying to save will exist at the top of the list with these iv options: "Open", "Save", "Save equally" and "Cancel". If you click "Save equally", you can select the folder where you lot want to salve the file and whatever name you want to save it with. Afterward saving the file, you are directed back to the "Downloads" page where the file now has ii different options: "Keep" or "Delete". Now you can click "Keep" and the ".CFG" file will exist saved properly. The fashion it works in Edge is very confusing. It took me a long time to figure this out. The aforementioned process is much more than directly in Google Chrome but I prefer Border.
